What a law firm can rely on. For Australian legal practitioners who run immigration matters.
- A practising certificate, not a MARN
- Verify with your certificate; messaging and lodgement open once it is checked.
- Matters past the application
- A case can be an application, an ART review, ministerial intervention or judicial review.
- Your engagement letter, if you prefer
- Switch off the CSA requirement and keep your own engagement workflow.
The money, the signature and the portal, on the same record as the matter.
Money held for a client, reconciled to the cent. Receipts, payments and transfers post to an immutable ledger; a mistake is reversed, never edited.
Trust accounting add-on, A$29/mo
- Three-way reconciliation: bank, cashbook and client ledgers agree before a month closes. A closed month never reopens.
- Paying out above your threshold needs a withdrawal authority, signed by the client or approved by a second admin.
- Client statements by email and on the portal, a trial balance, month-end and financial-year packs and an audit CSV.

- A Certificate of Electronic Signing with the document's SHA-256 hash and a signed QR code anyone can check.
- The client and their dependants sign; the firm countersigns.
- Sent, viewed, signed and declined are each kept in the audit log.

Questions law firms ask. Plans, MARNs and engagement letters.
Is there a plan for law firms?
No separate one. A law firm runs on Pro, the plan migration agents use, at A$79 a month. A firm that holds client money adds trust accounting at A$29/mo.
We have no MARN. Can we still use ImmiIQ?
Yes. A lawyer with a current practising certificate sends it in place of a MARN. Client messaging, portal invites and lodgement open once it has been verified; everything else works from the first day.
We use our own engagement letter. Do we have to send the CSA?
No. By default ImmiIQ holds outbound client messages until the Costs Service Agreement has gone out. An admin can switch that off under Settings > Preferences > Compliance for a firm that handles engagement letters elsewhere.
Are the templates written for lawyers?
They are written around the Migration Agents Code of Conduct for registered migration agents. They are yours to edit, so a firm rewrites them to its own engagement and costs terms.
Does Form 956 fill our Legal Practitioner Number?
Not yet. Form 956 is filled from the client record, but ImmiIQ stores no Legal Practitioner Number, so you add it and tick the legal capacity box yourself.
Where is trust accounting available?
For Australian firms, as an add-on at A$29/mo. The client sees the balance and statements you share on the Trust tab of their portal.
