Password Protect PDF
Encrypt a PDF with a password
Add AES-256 password protection to a PDF before emailing it to a client or counterparty. Encryption runs entirely in your browser in your browser - the file and password never leave your tab.
Heads-up: the password is never stored anywhere. If you forget it, the PDF cannot be recovered. Save it somewhere durable before you send the file out.
Common questions
What encryption strength is used?
AES-256 (the strongest PDF encryption standard). Supported by every modern PDF reader.
Where is my password stored?
Nowhere. The password is used in-browser to derive the encryption key and is then discarded. If you forget it, the PDF cannot be recovered.
Can I also restrict printing or copying?
The default protection only requires the password to open the file. Granular permissions (no-print, no-copy) require a full PDF editor.
Data security
The conversion runs entirely inside your browser tab using industry-standard libraries, so client documents stay on your device. The same data-security posture covers the rest of the ImmiIQ CRM. See how we handle data.
