Common questions

How much smaller will my PDF get?

Scanned bundles usually shrink by 60-80%. PDFs that are mostly vector text get BIGGER when re-rendered, so in that case the tool hands your original back untouched and tells you so.

Will the text stay sharp?

Every page is re-rendered as a 150 DPI image, so text stays legible but stops being selectable or searchable. That trade is worth it for scans and wrong for text-heavy documents - keep the original for those.

Can I tune the quality?

There's a quality slider in the controls. Lower quality = smaller file but more visible compression on photos and scans.
