Common questions
What if my image is already small enough?
It still gets re-encoded, because that is also what strips the EXIF. If the re-encode comes out larger than what you gave us - common for flat PNGs - the tool keeps your original and says so.
Will the EXIF / metadata be stripped?
Yes by default. Removing EXIF (which often includes GPS coordinates) is the privacy-safer default for lodgement exhibits.
Does it convert HEIC?
No - use the HEIC to JPG tool first, then compress the resulting JPG here.
